Following Superstorm Sandy, many areas of Keansburg were devastated and the community has been working to rebuild ever since. When we first opened Cove on the Bay, our goal was to help the progress of bringing the up value of Keansburg and back to the destination that is once was. And already looking around Keansburg, we like to think that we achieved that. Walking through town, you’ll see construction everywhere. Matter of fact, there’s a luxury restaurant/lounge being built right next door.
It’s clear that Keansburg is changing and we couldn’t be more excited.
Historically, Keansburg has been known as THE place to be for people from Northern New Jersey and New York. It was their personal getaway resort. It was where families and kids looked forward to spending their summer and weekends. This town has a lot of history; it’s even home to the oldest amusement park in the state. After struggling for so long, the Keansburg that once was… is finally back.
Looking at the location and its surroundings, you can recognize that Keansburg has so much more potential. It’s a small town nestled right on the bay with one of the rarest views in New Jersey. You’re overlooking the beach AND you can see a New York City skyline? It truly is the “Gem of the Bayshore.”
New restaurants & breweries have been opening up within the past few years like Hudson Coffee Company, Kazia Rae’s and Raritan Bay Brewing Co., the Baywalk Boardwalk has been newly renovated, and the community has worked hard to clean up the beach and host events like free concerts and movies. These are just a few examples of what Keansburg has to offer. The Raritan Bay Brewing Co. was even ranked in the top 3 in News 12’s competition for the best breweries in the tri-state area.
There may be skeptics but if you look around, it’s undeniable that Keansburg is rising and it’s only the beginning. At Cove on the Bay, we are just proud to be a small part of it and we’re looking forward to what’s to come.

There’s nothing like waking up to a beautiful beach view or walking outside and being able to put your feet in the sand and staring at the water. But actually… there’s real science behind it.
“Staring at the ocean actually changes our brain waves’ frequency and puts us into a mild meditative state.” – Richard Shuster, PsyD, clinical psychologist. In this article by NBC News, Shuster also mentions that the color blue is usually associated with a calm or peaceful feeling. It has also been found that the color is also linked to helping with creativity.
The article also references different studies that found people who live by the coast tend to be in better shape physically & mentally and that they feel calmer than those who don’t. So, when we say that that best place to live is on the beach… we mean it.
Do you need any more convincing that you need to live by the water? I don’t think so. Oh and did I mention the beach is FREE?
